The Honest Truth

In almost every possible respect, Mark is a normal kid. He has a dog, Beau, and a best friend, Jessie. He has hobbies—taking photographs and writing haiku poems. One day he even hopes to climb a mountain. The one thing that sets him apart is cancer. For all of his 12 years, he has been in and out of hospitals for treatments, and it is looking like he's not getting better. So, Mark runs away. He takes cash, his camera, his haiku notebook, and Beau, and sets out to climb Mount Rainier—no matter if it's the last thing he ever does.
