The prompt writing group will be meeting every other week on Wednesdays from 7pm-8:30pm for two months.

Wednesday September 27th
Wednesday October 11th
Wednesday October 25th
Wednesday November 8th

No experience or preparation is necessary.

Sessions will include writing in response to a prompt; the prompts will be a word or phrase. Prompt writing encourages spontaneous combustion’ on the page and avoids analysis and planning.  Writers can share their writing with the group but sharing is not required.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Nancy Carson is a writer and editor who believes prompt groups are a basic tool for all writers.
“The support a
nd enthusiasm of other writers helps us hear more deeply, and through that we move closer to our own personal writer’s voice.
A good prompt group is both a lot of fun and a great way to learn.”

Nancy’s professional career as a manger of a policy research agency of the U.S. Congress called on research, editing and presentation skills.
As a freelance writer she specialized in newsletter stories and foundation reports, translating field experience for the general reader.
She is the author of “Believing in Ourselves,” which tells the stories of women facing adversity. She studied writing with Natalie Goldberg and Phyllis Theroux.  H
er experience with prompt groups includes neighborhood writers, organized writers’ groups, and formerly-incarcerated women. She moved to Peapack from the Washington D.C. area in 2020.
